Wandering mind

I wonder how many times I have allowed my mind to wonder about many things and subjects.
Most of the time, I let myself think about food for the next days or work. Occasionally, I make the mistake of allowing my mind to wander into the past. I view parts of my life and the mistakes made by all sides during those times.
I now know that it is not healthy to let myself wander in the past. Staying trapped there means reviewing all those memories repeatedly. Just as it is not healthy to let yourself free all the time to dream.
Why you ask ?
Because you will also get trapped and miss all that happens around you .
It took me years to realize I needed to live in the now. At the same time, I allow myself to view the past with moderation. I do this only to see how I can better myself.
As to the dreams ?
Dreaming helps me relax and calm my mind. It allows me to view things clearer and with better focus. I have a much better understanding of all that has happened. But let’s not forget , dreams are just that.
They are not our current reality. It is wise to return to the current time and focus on what is in front of us.
